The national carrier, Czech Railways, devotes considerable effort to the modernization and continuous improvement of its activities and processes. As a major employer, we also focus on our role incorporate social responsibility. That is why we place great emphasis on quality and compliance with legal requirements in all our activities.
One of the key tools for achieving these goals is the implemented and certified Quality Management System (QMS), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S), and, since 2015, the Energy Management System (EnMS). These systems are established in accordance with internationally recognized ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
The top management of Czech Railways is committed to fulfilling the requirements of these international standards. Accordingly, it has issued the Joint Policy of ISO/SMS Management Systems, the Occupational Health and Safety Policy, and the Energy Policy of Czech Railways, all based on the company´s mission and values. In the area of energy management, considering the scope of the National Carrier´s operationsand the overall number of employees, the implementation of an Energy Management System is regarded as a socially significant step.
Recertification and surveillance audits confirm annually that the Integrated Management System is maintained and continuously improved. In June 2025, the independent international certification company TAYLLORCOX s.r.o. verified compliance with the standards ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 as part of a recertification audit. Based on the audit findings, TAYLLORCOX confirmed continued compliance and issued new certificates for České dráhy, a. s.
In November 2024 a recertification audit was conducted at Czech Railways to assess compliance with the ISO 50001 standard in the field of energy management. As a result, the certification validity was extended for another three-year period.
The results of the certification process are not only a success for us but also represent a contined commitment to delivering high-quality services in line with modern socially responsible standards. We greatly value our customers and business partners. The persons responsible for the ISO management systems at Czech Railways, in accordance with the standards, are the CEO and the Deputy CEOs within their respective areas of competence. The actual operation and performance of the ISO management systems fall under the responsibility of the designated senior manager of the respective ČD department.
The coordination of the ISO management systems is ensured by the ISO Systems Manager.
